City trip

We finally made it down to the city. It was hard timing it with the unpredictable weather recently but we ended up with a pristine perfect day. We parked the car and caught a train down to Circular Quay. It was a little hot mid day but we managed to rest under some huge trees at the botanical gardens.
We ran into Steve and Terri who were on their way to meet Amber and Andy at Darling Harbour so we hooked up for the rest of the afternoon. The kids splashed in the fountains, we watched some street performers and even had a quick run through the Marine Museum which was closing in 20 min.
All the pictures are taken by Shane which is why he's not in any. Great pix though, hey?

Featherdale

Today is Allie's 2nd birthday so Amos and kids, Anne and Allie invited the kids and I out to Featherdale wildlife park. I've been wanting to go there for years and especially to give Alan and Jay the Australian wildlife experience.
I'm giving the slide show another attempt on my own so bear with me.
The photo's I'm in Alan took!

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

Ok, si here we go again with the best of the Waves day out.

Alan got to go on the inflatable slide in the big pool. He's doing quite well with his swimming only having just learnt last summer I wasn't sure if he'd forgotten. Jay absolutly loves the water and is happy to hold his breath and go under....he'll take off swimming this year, I think.
And yes, I look like I've permanently got marshmallows in my cheeks...ha!

Strand Beach

We made a trip to the beach yesterday for family day. The 2 boys were happy to just run wild, the ocean looked a little brown though and cold, so no swimming. Windsurfing was popular and it seemed everyone had the same idea as us for long walks on the beach. It was the first time to the coastline for quite a while, it felt good.

Great shot, huh! Shane’s photography.
