Haydn is 1 1/2

...and fully weaned. He's transitioned from his cot...which he never liked much anyway to his toddler bed and loves getting bundled in the blankies now that it's cold. When he needs something he follows me around the house saying "Mummy, Mummy" perfectly but when I answer he replies with gibberish. His favorite thing right now is his bookshelf full of books and Jay's old scooter. He's beginning to repeat everything i say and sings "baa baa black sheep" so cutely.

Don't ya just love the name?! Congrats Ginny and Andy on the birth! 10 days early and weighing in at just 3.1kgs. He's very tiny and you can really see it right beside Haydn, a bruiser at about 12 kgs (4kgs at birth!)

The day did not start off crash hot...at about 4:30 a.m! Haydn at nearly one year still does not sleep through the night and had me and Shane up. It's beyond me having spent years before I had my own kids perfecting baby schedules so that they eat, sleep and poop in a routine but haven't had the same success with my own children at least as far as the sleeping goes! What's up with that?!
It frustrates me because then I don't have the energy to accomplish what I need to and want to during the day. It just sucks waking up tired.
I'm close to weaning him hoping it will effect his sleep habits...hmmm, I had wanted him to carry on as long as he wanted to but I'm not sure now. Sisters (and friends)! Advice please!

My day wasn't a total waste, Dad was able to take me out for my second driving lesson and this time we progressed from the car park! This is really huge for me! Shane and I are looking at cars to change over to an automatic having established I'm not ready for the manual we already own.

Alan had his school photo's today and we'll get those in a few weeks. The weather was stinking hot so we took them for a swim after school at Lynn's place. We picked up some veggies from the markets and some beautiful Christmas tracts that we'll start giving out straight away. The malls are already gearing up for it so why not? And that's my day.

Now that I'm 10 months old....

• I can stand for a period of time 
• I took my first steps on the 2nd of October
• I'm cutting my 5th tooth! 
• I'm an avid lover or books and baths and the sandpit
• I'm dying to get my hands on the garbage can and explore the bathroom!

Chubby Bubby

Haydn turned 9 months. He eats 3 full meals a day and is a regular little cookie monster. He stands on his own (usually not noticing). He cut his first tooth just days before and is getting 2 top teeth in too. He's starting little tantrums now. Usually kicking his legs and messing up the closest thing too him, folded laundry, my hair or throwing his food.

Now that it's warming up I'm trying to get him back into his own bed so I can get more sleep. Shane's gonna take him for a few nights and hopefully he'll get off the boob and perhaps we'll all get more sleep. I figured out why I was always starving after dinner...he's been feeding all night. No wonder he's a fat lil bugger!

...and as of this evening, crawling fully on all fours!

It's amazing, last week he hated "tummy time" and I was worried he may be a late crawler and this week he's off. Babies never cease to amaze me! We've had a few rough nights where he seems to want to nurse ALL NIGHT LONG argh! (remember them?) the worse sort of torture, I reckon. You just cannot be a rational person during the day with such inconsistent sleep. (I console myself with at least I'm burning calories while I sleep. =P)
So I figured he may be having a growth spurt and fed him cereal twice today, including one big bowl just before bed. Hmmm we'll see how we go. Below he's having a serious moment, so cute and with his handsome Daddy.

Naming the baby

Thanks to all you who were interested enough to vote on a name....we are no closer to agreeing 100% (but it did help) We may have to fall back on waiting to meet the little guy and trying out names for a few days at a time to get use to it.
This naming thing is not as easy as it looks!

I do like Hayden but am keen to hear other suggestions not on the list and you still have time to comment. (hint)
