Birthday celebrations, feasting and my week

Well, been meaning to get here and post all that's been happening. Firstly, I had a really nice birthday! We were able to slip over to Mum and Dad's for a family dinner and I received some beautiful gifts. and a yummy bottle of tequila from Amber and Miguel (--Ambers new beau who had just arrived the day before from Mexico) ....thanx you all! And it's been a couple years since I was sat down behind a cake and sung too...only at your parents place, huh! Amber has some pix on her blog. I love the one of Nat holding the too bubs and me with my big boys.

And just digesting all that was read during this years feast. It's all very exciting and challenging and looking forward to seeing our place in it all. This week we're getting down to business with the Lord as to what our next move is.

Not so big or important but I took out my nose ring after eight years of having it. I don't know I'm just over it. I like really getting in and giving my face a good scrub and have been religiously moisturizing for many years now and it was always a pain to accidentally drag it out or get caught on the towel I was drying my face with etc. And soooo many girls have them these days. It's no longer a statement either and as women get older it starts looking crass. It just no longer matches who I am. Anyway, yea or nay?

On Monday I "escaped" for some downtime and rummaged through the Op shop a bit then met up with Ruth for a coffee and catch up. Twas very relaxing.

The rain finally stopped on Tuesday so Shane and I took the kids to a nearby park with lots of bushland and paths for brisk walking. It was just one of those perfect summer evenings to be out.
And yesterday Pop took Alan and trailed along with Amber and Mig to do the whole downtown thing including ferry to Manly.
I went with the two little ones to hang out with Serena and her two who were home alone. We baked Anzac Biscuits and they splashed in the paddling pool and generally had a nice, change of scenery day.

Here's a cute picture of the cousins in Katoomba
Raymond is 6 months and Haydn is 2 months

  1. Happy belated birthday Jo! I thought I'd comment on the nose ring issue.

To quote: "soooo many girls have them these days. It's no longer a statement either and as women get older it starts looking crass. It just no longer matches who I am."

I can totally relate to that. I took mine out several years ago for the same reason. Thankfully it didn't scar & I have no trace of ever having one, apart from the memory & photos. :)
