I spent the day downtown today with with an old friend that I knew from Russia.
I was 17 and she was 12 (we figured) when we first met. She went to the local public school in the area we lived in in Vladivostok and I was fresh off the plane from Japan. She couldn't speak a word of English but sang us some old hit in perfect English with her twin, identical sister. That was the beginning, they then attended a Sunday type schools that we held informally at our house and went on to attend the summer camps we hosted and then on to becoming a part of our team that performed all over the region. When I recently got in touch with her via Facebook I was elated to hear she was in Sydney studying for a few months and arranged to meet up at Darling Harbor where we spent the morning catching up. Man, I would so love to revisit Vladivostok!
Check this pic of her and her sister. Double take, hey?! Told you they were stunning!
