This year I didn't feel up to the huge party thing and have decided to alternate years for "big" kids parties but Alan got to choose one friend and we went out for dinner and he had a sleepover too. On the Thursday, his actual birthday, I was able to go to school and took in some cupcakes for his classmates and teacher.
