Alan's sample portfolio pages

Besides the photo pages (there's more) I put 2 sample pages from each subject (one from the beginning of the year and one from the end) to give an idea of what he's learning and how he's improved. That covers Arithmetic, Language and Spelling then I'll choose the most interesting Social studies and Science subject pages and a few pieces of art work interspersed to make it more interesting. I end up using only about 10 clear pages per year then in one slip I'll keep his attendance record, logs and report card for that year.
It's worked well so far without keeping too many papers but I'm considering combining the kids excursions and activities album since they're usually together and in the same shots etc...a mom I know with many children did that...and it makes sense to cut down on albums. We'll see what I can keep up with.

Very nice. I havent' gotten myself to gether to do the kids portfolios yet. I'm doing it this month for the last two years. And yes, the "family ablum" is a good idea, where the kids go together on family day, and things like that. Thanks for posting it, it's always great to get more ideas.

Love you lots. Praying for you!
