A day in the life of me....

......always something to blog about. This afternoon Shane and I, Robs and Malaika drove about an hour outta town to a young offenders reprimand centre. It was really more of a haven for street kids that so desperately needed someone to look out for them.
Most of them are from one tribe, the Karimonjong that has been driven out of their land for whatever reason and come to Kampala to beg on the streets and end up getting into trouble out of desperation to survive. Anyway, it's nice to be a part of the solution and we're receiving a lot of support for it. One particular business donated to be able to buy 20kgs of beef and 20kgs of rice for Christmas for them and we scrounged up some smarties to distribute during our visit. We sang action songs, showed the Christmas Treasure Attic with a running translation, sang and danced together to more music and songs (African s really love to dance!) We attempted a freeze dance game ....with all 280 children! I think we narrowed it down to 100 winners....hah, but they all had such a good time anyway. They were very well behaved and obviously had had a tough go of it. Many prayed to receive the Lord and we've seen the needs and hope to be back soon with the clothing they need!
Just got home to my poochies and haven't uploaded the photo's yet. Stay tuned.
